ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Verve Group is looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead & grow a globally distributed team of engineers focused on supporting a comprehensive suite of marketing and advertising products and stacks with a worldwide presence that best serves our customers’ needs. We are looking for a leader who will drive the overarching technical vision that is at the very foundation of the company, build cost-efficient and effective products, and manage a 24/7/365 advertising suite with footprints in 4 continents. A leader who will coach a growing technical team, work closely with Sales and Accounts teams to support our customers and work with the Executive Leadership team to make the correct set of strategic decisions spanning the entire organization.

We are looking for a leader who will provide market feedback to product & executive teams and help establish best practices in team collaboration and technical leadership.

Job brief

We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to provide technical leadership and execution in all aspects of our business. You will communicate with employees, stakeholders and customers to ensure our company’s technologies are developed, evolved and supported appropriately.

Strategic thinking and strong business acumen are essential in this role as well as deep domain expertise. We expect you to be well-versed in current technological trends and familiar with a variety of business concepts. If you built and grew large engineering teams and established

effective engineering organizations we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities

  • Be the singular and central representative for the Technology department within the Executive Leadership Team and throughout the organization, driving strategy and execution

  • Hire, manage, lead and coach a globally distributed technical staff spanning software development, quality assurance, site reliability, information technology, systems engineering, infrastructure, data science, data engineering and UI/UX.

  • Manage, evolve and optimize a globally distributed, high volume, low latency architecture running in managed and cloud environments that process hundreds of billions of transactions a day.

  • Lead the strategy for technology platforms, partnerships and external relationships

  • Identify, compare, select and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs

  • Manage and optimize infrastructure assets to satisfy internal financial targets

  • Create overall technology standards and practices that increase the pace of delivery and ensure adherence

  • Consolidate our technology platforms and create plans for each

  • Set, track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics

  • Oversee the high-level architectural design and evolution

  • Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in the technology landscape

  • Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity

  • Ensure our AI/ML capabilities leverage best practices and deliver impactful solutions for the business for both auction mechanics and audience development

  • Work closely with Marketing, Business Development and Operations to define and deliver new products and enhancements

  • Evolve a strong engineering culture and ensure recognition internally and externally


Job requirements

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as a CTO or similar leadership role preferably from the AdTech industry

  • Strong department leader with skills in strategic planning, goal setting, process development, budgeting, and creating opportunities for professional development within technology teams

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking abilities with a problem-solving aptitude

  • Solid understanding of broad technology trends and the ability to align innovation with business goals

  • Deep understanding of the advertising ecosystem, its underlying technologies and its evolution

  • Strong communication with an ability to convey technical topics in easy-to-understand business terms and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

  • Strategic smarts, including the ability to identify new opportunities, drive clarity, create focus, and make tough decisions in complex and dynamic contexts

  • Ability to track and identify new technologies to solve complex business issues
