Who You Are

We're seeking an Engineer II, Looker to join our Data Analytics team at Verve. You'll work with large-scale data, preparing and visualizing it for internal and external stakeholders while ensuring efficient, high-performing applications with appealing UI/UX.


In this role, you’ll collaborate with product and engineering teams, focusing on feature development, performance tuning, and platform stability. You’ll report to the Engineering Manager, Data Analytics and play a key role in enabling data-driven decisions with precision and quality.

What You Will Do
  • Develop and maintain Looker data models (LookML), including dimensions, measures, and dashboards

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions using Looker

  • Optimize and maintain Looker performance by reviewing SQL queries and data structures

  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity within Looker by building strong data validation processes

  • Create compelling dashboards and visualizations that enable data-driven decision-making

  • Work with data engineering teams to ensure smooth integration between databases and Looker

  • Train and support end-users in using Looker for ad-hoc reporting and analysis

Job requirements

What You Will Bring

  • 2-4 years of experience working with Looker in a data engineering, BI, or analytics role

  • Strong proficiency in LookML and building complex data models

  • Experience in SQL and working with relational databases like PostgreSQL

  • Experience working with BigQuery, or Vertica

  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues related to data integrity, performance, and visualization in Looker

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant field

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • Experience with other BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik

  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and tools like BigQuery

  • Previous experience working in agile development environments
