About Verve Retail Media Holding
Verve Retail Media Holding is the operational backbone of a global advertising and retail media platform within the Verve Group, connecting world-class CPG brands like Unilever, Nestlé, and Mars with premier retailers including EDEKA, REWE, and Kaufland. Our group, including specialists like Acardo and Viewento, operates at the intersection of AdTech, IoT, and AI, managing a powerful network of in-store and digital promotion technology across 30,000 retail locations.
Unlike traditional digital-only platforms, our technology is "on the ground," utilizing thousands of active devices, such as smart carts and digital screens, to transform physical stores into intelligent, monetizable media channels. Our mission is to digitize the physical world by capturing the vast, untapped data of human behavior in physical retail to build a high-complexity platform serving as the foundation for a new class of AI known as Large Consumer Models.
We seek engineers eager to solve unprecedented challenges, such as real-time attribution of in-store video ads to physical product interactions, as we build the infrastructure for the future of retail.
About the Role
We are looking for a Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain the underlying infrastructure and developer tools that power the Verve Retail Media Platform (RMP). You will be the architect of our "internal product," ensuring that our product engineers can deploy code safely, monitor systems effectively, and scale services across a global network of IoT devices and digital screens.
You will bridge the gap between application development and systems operations, focusing on automation, scalability, and the reliability of our mission-critical retail media ecosystem.

Data & State: Firestore, MongoDB, BigQuery, Redis
Languages & Protocols: Go (Backend services), gRPC, Node.js (Tooling), TypeScript
AI: GenAI-driven development (Cursor, Claude, LLMs) for automation and code quality
You will be responsible for
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Designing and managing scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure on
GCP using modern IaC principles to support multi-tenant retail environments.Developer Experience (DevEx): Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and internal tooling
that allow Frontend and Backend teams to move from "code to production" with zero friction.System Reliability: Owning the observability stack (Prometheus/Grafana) and ensuring 24/7
availability for our in-store IoT devices and ad-serving engines.Scalability & Performance: Optimizing Kubernetes clusters and database configurations
(Firestore/BigQuery) to handle massive event streams from thousands of smart carts and
screens.Security & Compliance: Implementing robust security protocols, IAM policies, and networking
configurations to protect sensitive consumer and retailer data.Collaboration: Partnering with Backend Engineers on system architecture and Frontend
Engineers on edge-deployment strategies for smart-cart screens.
We are looking for a person who has
Technical Expertise: 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles,
